As a makeup artist, I have tried a lot of different beauty products. A common question I get is: Out of everything you use, what are your favourite products? So, with this in mind, I wanted to share some of my favourite beauty products that will help enhance and correct some common concerns that we all have. These products can give you that extra flair for special occasions or help you look effortlessly gorgeous as part of your daily makeup routine. These beauty secrets will help you to achieve the appearance of flawless skin, bright eyes, and luscious lips.

Flawless Skin

I hate to see my pores and I hate the look of fine lines. Whenever I get ready for the day I like my face to look smooth under my foundation, allowing my face to maintain the perfect texture.

Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch is a product made by Clarins. This product is amazing for people that have visible pores and fine lines. Using just a small amount, apply it over the area needed, like the pores on and beside your nose and the fines lines under your eyes. After applying, the ‘Instant smooth perfecting touch’ will give the appearance of smoother skin. Only use this after your skin care is applied and then you are able to apply your make up over top.

Bronzer is a product that I apply every day. Sometimes I’m in a rush and need to apply a bit of colour as quickly as possible. Sometimes I need to lightly freshen up my makeup throughout the day. I found a bronzer that is a quick easy to use spray on bronzer that washes off easily at night.

Dior Bronzer Sun Powder Spray is a spray bronzer made by Dior. You can use it alone, without foundation or you can apply it over top of your powder or foundation. You simply shake the can and spray it over your face in an “s” motion for a very natural sun tanned look.

Every time I look at a professional photograph, I’m curious about if it ‘s really possible to have the perfect look that makes the face bright and sculpted. I found a way to have that look from photographs but with an easy everyday look.
Skin Flash Radiance Booster Pen is a concealer made by Dior. This lightweight product is used to highlight specific areas of the face. It is best used beside the eye area, above the eyebrow, beside the nose and around the mouth. Apply a small amount to each area and gently tap the product around the spot. The booster pen lightens the skin to give the face a more youthful, sculpted look, just like you see in photographs.

I will not go a day without an eye shadow base! I love how it enhances my eye shadow colour and holds my eye shadow all day and all evening. This next product even stayed on when I went to the water park for the day, allowing me to have a hint of makeup even while I swam.
The Eye Base made by Guerlain and Eye Show (which is waterproof), made by Christian Dior are products that make your eye shadow last longer during the day and give much more intensity to the eye shadow colours. Apply a very thin layer over the eyelid and apply the eye shadow colour of your choice over top. The Dior Eyeshow has a hint of colour and can be worn on its own.

I have never been a fan of waterproof mascara because it’s hard to remove and is drying to my eyelashes. Of course there are times that I need to prevent my mascara from running, like rainy days and weddings, but I’ll avoid it otherwise. The next product makes my regular mascara hold onto my lashes without any running.

Double Fix Mascara is another product made by Clarins and can be used to help solve a couple of different issues. Waterproof mascara is a lot more drying to your eyelashes, often causing them to break when you try to remove it. When you change your mascara to waterproof it changes the formula so you may not be able to get the same result you were had from the non-waterproof mascara. With this product you can use your regular mascara, which is not as drying and apply this product on top. It seals the outer layer of mascara so it makes it waterproof. It can be used every day or only used when it’s needed, like rainy days or beach parties. Another way you can use this product is to brush it through your eyebrows to smooth them out. This gives them a clean look and holds them in place for the day.

Everyday I would put on lipstick to my dry, colourless lips I would wish that it lasted more than a few minutes. I also hate when my lipstick bleeds but I don’t want to use a lip pencil. To my surprise, I found a way to hydrate my lips, hold my lipstick on longer and avoid using a lip pencil.

Advanced Lip Fix by Elizabeth Arden is the perfect product for adding hydration to your lips; because it is a hydrating cream and, gives the advantage of a longer lasting lipstick without your lipstick feathering. Apply a small amount all over your lips and allow the product to dry. Then apply your lipstick of choice over top, having it last longer and preventing your lipstick from bleeding or feathering, like a lip pencil would do.

When you add these products to your everyday make up routine, you will notice your make up will last longer and it will enhance all of your facial features.
